We started keeping bees in Lubec, Maine in 2000. Lubec is the farthest point east in the continental United States. We are called the Sunrise County. It is really a challenge to raise bees in this part of the country due to the extreme winters.
When attending the Maine State Beekkeepers Annual meeting I met an older beekkeeper who made lip balm with his beeswax. He was kind enough to share the recipe with me. I took it home and made a few changes to make it more to my liking. I have kept the recipe simple so even people with sensitive skin or allergies don't have a problem with it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
